Fetch is a real brick and mortar store in Portland, Maine (there are other Fetches in the U.S., but we’re not related to each other). We’re open every day, Monday through Saturday from 10 to 6 and Sunday from 10 to 5, with extended hours in the summer and during the holiday shopping season.
Fetch opened on April Stool’s Day, 2000. We’re on a mission. We want to provide dogs and cats (and their people) in Portland with a high quality of life, which means that we take fun (and nutrition) seriously. After 2 1/2 years in a vast (if you are a chihuahua) location on Munjoy Hill in Portland’s East End, we decided that we needed more space so that we could continue to offer the freshest, most imaginative toys and gear as well as what we think are the best all-natural foods, supplements and litters. Since September 23, 2002, we’ve been at our present location on Commercial Street, in the heart of the Old Port’s Historic District on the waterfront. We cater to our locals and do whatever we can to make shopping with us easy, helpful and just plain fun. Your dogs and cats are our favorite visitors (all are welcome, with leashes please!), and we welcome tourists from all over the world throughout the (usually…!) spectacular Maine summer.
We tend toward the well-designed, innovative and just plain silly (buying the usual things you might find in HUGEMEGAPETSTORES makes Zip snore.) We encourage customers to have a good time with their animals, which sometimes means dressing them up. We’ve found that pugs are particularly silly, and that lots of pugs together are even more silly, so during the warm months we host Pug Night every Wednesday evening in summer. We believe that in order to enjoy the good things that come your way, you have to give back. So a portion of profits are destined to go right back out the door, which special emphasis on animals and the environment that supports all of us.
We are fortunate to live in a beautiful area and a lively community of people, their companion animals and diverse wildlife. We look forward to sharing our store and our community with you! Situated on Commercial Street, right in the midst of the hustle and bustle of everything the Old Port has to offer, Moose knows the building.
